Here is a mock-up DVD cover I mixed up.
Expect the DVD around late November.
The script will be done in a few weeks.

This has nothing to do with The Ghost of Molly Brown, but I just thought I would say something about this. “Outrage” has exposed itself as Kurt Sutter has removed his name from the script of Punisher: War Zone claiming only one scene written by him is kept and he wouldn’t even get recognition for it so what would be the point? I agree with him and having your script re-written by someone completely different to get it “up to standard” would be heartbreaking and stupid in my opinion. Another reason I am behind his decision is because they replaced the actor who portrayed the Punisher in the first film, Thomas Jane, and I hate actor-changing. I love Kurt’s outlook on film and characters residing in said film and wish him all the best in future projects.
But now onto my film! Tafe has just started and the film is a bit hectic to take control of but I will be able to do it and juggle my studies at the same time…I hope…
I have had people emailing in asking for jobs which is really flattering and I’ll try to accept any offer I can. If you email in for a job, please take into account that the roles for the killer (Bearhead), Molly’s boyfriend, Derek, Molly’s friends Shellie and Nancy are taken, as well as direction, writing, editing, composing. I wouldn’t mind a lighting technician…? I am considering make-up artist so far, but won’t mention said person’s name in case they don’t want to be mentioned by name for privacy purposes.
This film *will* be done by Christmas this year and it’s going to be great! I’ve written about ten more pages putting my page count up to 56 pages so I’m getting to the end slower than expected but I *am* getting there. The second half of the film is a lot harder to write than the first part which is a basic slasher film but the second half has completely messed me up as to how to work it out but it will get worked out … maybe not how I first envisioned it but it will get worked out.
And in relation to special effects, due to this film being a no-budget affair, I was thinking of doing stop-motion effects similar to that in Beetlejuice (a film I just *happened* to watch recently). I love the effects in Beetlejuice and especially today with big-budget CGI films dominating the cineplex and home theatres I took it as a breath of fresh air (I guess that’s why I also liked Death Proof, because of it’s utter lack of CGI). I have a very “Frighteners” type climax in mind and I think stop-motion would add to the creepiness of it all so am working further and further towards that option.
You have a suggestion for anything or requests for jobs? Please do *not* hesitate to email me or comment below.
Until next time,
Calum

Hey all!
I’m updating this blog to say I’m 46 pages into the script and am half-way through the actual story, whether or not my finished script will be 90 pages or 190 (lets hope not) it should be pretty good. I’m happy with where it is at the moment and there’s a few things I’ll change, but those are only like one or two scenes, no big hassle.
I am also updating this blog to say I have created a The Ghost of Molly Brown FaceBook page. Please look at it, join it as a friend (if that’s possible, I’m piss-poor at FaceBook I’m new to this, not MySpace but FaceBook), and please contribute to the discussion!
Click here or take a gander to the widget at your right!
See you soon.
